Travel restrictions to the USA for travelers returning from Ebola-affected areas
To reduce the risk of Ebola importation into the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and prevention (CDC) is temporarily restricting U.S. entry for travelers who were recently in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
Travellers, including Americans, who have been in the DRC within 21 days of their flight will not be allowed to board commercial flights with destinations to the United States. All U.S. citizens and U.S. nationals who have been in the DRC should plan to remain outside the DRC for 21 days before entering the United States.
CDC attestation requirement for all customers traveling to the United States
Effective 3 November 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST, all customer boarding an international flight to or connecting through the United States must complete a CDC Passenger Disclosure and Attestation form confirming that they have not been present in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) during the 21 days prior to travel. This requirement applies to all customers, regardless of nationality, place of residence, or country of departure.
Passengers who do not provide a completed attestation may be denied boarding. Each passenger must complete a separate attestation. Parents or other authorized representatives may complete the form on behalf of children or passengers unable to complete it themselves.
Completing the Attestation Form
Customers may:
- Complete and print the attestation form before arriving at the airport, or
- Complete the form at the airport. Forms available at the departure gate.
