Flying the London-Helsinki route this summer? Participate in the IATA Travel Pass trial!

IATA Travel Pass is a new mobile application that makes it easier to manage coronavirus related travel documents. The app tells you accurate information on travel requirements for journeys. It checks your certificates against the requirements of your destination and lets you know whether you’re okay to travel.

With the app, you receive, store and manage your verified coronavirus certificates securely. Going forward, you can go through the airport and board the aircraft quickly and easily without extra travel document hassle. The app makes travelling smoother than with the current process, where you have to carry various documents.

We are now trialling the app to collect feedback from our customers and personnel. This feedback will help in the app development and planning of our next steps. The solution is still under development and only some of its upcoming features will be available in the trial phase. 

Finnair explores also other digital solutions to ease travelling and coronavirus related travel document management. We decide on introducing these solutions for larger use later this year.

How to join the trial?

You can join the trial if you’re flying between Helsinki and London on a Finnair flight between 14 July - 11 August. You’ll also need a negative coronavirus test certificate from one of the participating laboratories (check the list here). In Finland, you’ll get a 15% discount from testing services of Terveystalo Kamppi in Helsinki.

When you participate in the trial, you’ll be able to use a dedicated check-in counter at Helsinki Airport and London Heathrow. You’ll also receive extra 2 000 Finnair Plus points for joining the trial. These extra points will be added to your account once at the end of the trial period.
