Transferring between your accounts is free of charge and you can do it as often as you wish. What’s more, Avios are worth the same in both programs: 1 Avios in Finnair Plus is 1 Avios in the Club.

How to transfer Avios between loyalty programmes

The easiest way to link your accounts and transfer Avios is to follow the steps directly on the Balance and transactions page. You can find detailed instructions below. 

  1. Log in to your Finnair Plus account on Finnair.com.
  2. Enable two-factor authentication for both accounts. For Finnair Plus, you can enable it on the Update profile page of your account. For the other account, please follow the respective programme’s instructions.
  3. Check that your first name and family name match on both accounts. You don’t need to worry about special characters such as hyphens (-), apostrophes (’) or accented letters (e.g. è, ó, â, ã, ä, å), as the system adapts to these automatically.
  4. Complete linking and transfer on avios.com. You can access avios.com through the Balance and transactions page. Your accounts will be linked as you start the first transfer. Transferred Avios usually appear almost instantly in your Transaction history.

Who can link accounts?

To link your accounts, you:

  • must be at least 18 years old
  • have a Finnair Plus account that is at least 30 days old

Data sharing

To enable Avios transfers between Finnair Plus and other loyalty programmes that use Avios, we share relevant data from your Finnair Plus account with the other programme in accordance with our privacy policy.

Unlinking accounts

You can unlink your accounts only by contacting British Airways Club customer service. You can’t unlink your accounts on avios.com. Please make sure you want to link your accounts before completing the process.

Potential issues when linking your accounts

You can't link your accounts unless you’ve enabled two-factor authentication for both of them.

For Finnair Plus, log in to your account and go to the Update profile page through the left-side menu. Set up two-factor authentication by following the instructions in the Two-factor authentication section.

For other programmes, please contact them directly for help.

If you’re using two-factor authentication by text message and have an incorrect phone number in your personal details, you won’t receive any verification codes.

You can check that your phone number is correct on the Update profile page of your Finnair Plus account.

For a smoother experience, we recommend using email or an authenticator app for two-factor authentication.

If you have issues with two-factor authentication with another programme, please contact them directly for help.

If your first name and family name don’t match on your Finnair Plus and Club accounts, you will not be able to link your accounts.

Please note that special characters like hyphens (-), apostrophes (‘) and accented letters (e.g. è, ó, â, ã, ä, å) are not a problem when linking your accounts because the system will automatically adapt to those.

If you need to change the name on your Finnair Plus account, please contact our customer service.

If you want to change the name saved to your Finnair Plus profile, please contact our customer service.

Please note that your name must appear as on your passport. However, you don’t need to worry about special characters like hyphens (-), apostrophes (‘) and accented letters (e.g. è, ó, â, ã, ä, å) because our system automatically adapts to those. For example, Hämäläinen, Haemaelaeinen and Hamalainen are considered the same family name.
