Located in the very heart of Northern Lapland, Ivalo is an area of unique natural beauty that attracts tourists all year round.

Winter is an especially good time to visit, when the fells are covered in soft white snow and the spectacular Northern Lights illuminate the inky black heavens. Naturally, there‘s no shortage of outdoor action, and Saariselkä – which is widely recognised as one of the best ski resorts in Finland – offers fun, snow and adventure well into springtime.

During summer, Ivalo is the perfect place to experience the midnight sun, while in September, its vibrant autumn colours draw both locals and tourists alike. When you’re in town, be sure to visit Siida, the national Finnish Sami museum.

The airport is located 10 km southwest of Ivalo.
