Frequently asked questions

Can I take my medication along as carry-on baggage? / How do I transport medication on a flight?

Yes, we recommend you always take all the necessary medication that you might need during and after your flight in your carry-on baggage.

Please pack your medication in a separate bag, preferably in the original packaging. Also bring the prescriptions in English for any prescription medications; especially if your condition requires treatment with injectable medication. This will make inspections easier at customs and security checkpoints. The security checkpoint staff will let you know whether you need to show your medication and/or prescriptions, policies may differ depending on the situation and country.

You may transport your medication also in your checked baggage. However, we do not recommend carrying the medication that you might need after your flight in your checked baggage to ensure that in case your baggage is delayed, you will have the necessary medication with you.

If you are travelling abroad, please check the regulations of your destination country regarding the import of medication.
