Avios Subscription

An Avios Subscription is an easy way to top up your Avios balance regularly, whether you are saving for award flights, travel class upgrades or any other products or services.

By subscribing to Avios, you ensure that you have enough Avios available for use every month, as you will receive a standard amount of Avios monthly in your Finnair Plus account. It is also the most affordable way to purchase Avios.

How does an Avios Subscription work?

You can choose the most suitable subscription package for you from four options: 2,000, 4,000, 10,000 or 20,000 Avios per month. You can select to pay for the subscription either monthly or prepay for the whole year. 

In both cases, the Avios will be added to your account monthly. This means you can subscribe to either 24,000, 48,000, 120,000 or 240,000 Avios per year.​

Your subscription will renew automatically and it will continue until you cancel it. If you pay for your subscription monthly, you can cancel it at the earliest three months after subscribing. With the annual payment method, you can cancel your subscription at the earliest after 12 months.

You can subscribe to Avios on Finnair Shop. After subscribing, you can manage your subscription through My Subscription Account, which is available on the Avios Subscription page on Finnair Shop.​

If you pay for your subscription package monthly, the minimum term for the subscription is 3 months.

If you pay for your subscription package yearly, the minimum term for the subscription is 12 months.

Your subscription will renew automatically and continue until you cancel it. If you wish to cancel your subscription before it renews, you must do so by the day before the new billing period starts. To cancel your Avios Subscription, please log in to Finnair Shop, visit My Subscription Account and select ‘Cancel subscription’ on the Avios Subscription page.  

You have the right to cancel the contract for your purchase of an Avios Subscription within 14 days of your transaction, as long as the Avios deposited to your Finnair Plus account haven't been used. This means that you need to have at least the deposited amount of Avios in your Finnair Plus account. A full refund of the original purchase price will be issued to you, and the equal amount of Avios deposited to you from the subscription will be deducted from your Finnair Plus account.

Choose a package

Choose the most suitable package from our four monthly Avios options. You can select either a monthly or annual payment.

Add your email address

Enter your email address for a confirmation email and continue to payment.

Pay for the subscription

Select your payment method and pay. You’ll receive a confirmation email.

Subscribing to Avios is the most affordable way to purchase Avios. Choosing the annual subscription helps you save even more.

Good to know

When you subscribe to Avios, your Finnair Plus account stays active and your Avios won’t expire.

You can also exchange the Avios you have received through subscription for tier points. Double-check the tier points you need before completing the exchange, as the transaction is non-refundable. The exchange can only be done once during your personal tracking period.

Questions and answers

The posting date is the day you subscribed. For example, if you subscribe to Avios on 1 February, the posting day of your subscribed Avios will always be the first day of the month. Please note that after subscribing, it may take up to 72 hours for Avios to be added to your account.

You may subscribe to only one subscription package at a time. If you wish to change your subscription package, you must first cancel your current subscription, after which you can select a new subscription package.

For the first month, you will be charged on the day you subscribe. For the following charges, you will be charged on the same day the subscription was made.

For example,  

  • Monthly payment: if you subscribe on 1 January, the next charge is on 1 February.
  • Yearly payment: if you subscribe on 1 January, the next charge is on 1 January of the following year.

Please note that the first transaction can take up to 72 hours to go through.

Yes, you can – there are no changes to buying Avios for yourself or as a gift for someone else.  

In addition to your Avios subscription, you can buy yourself a maximum of 200,000 Avios in a calendar year. You can purchase between 1,000 and 200,000 Avios per calendar year for yourself in Finnair Shop.  

On top of that, you can buy Avios as a gift for your friends and family. The combined amount of Avios that a Finnair Plus member can buy or receive per calendar year is 200,000 in addition to the amount received through subscription.  

For example, if you have subscribed to 240,000 Avios and have additionally purchased 100,000 Avios for yourself, you can receive another 100,000 Avios as a gift.

An Avios Subscription cannot be paused or changed. If you wish to change your subscription package, you must first cancel your current subscription, after which you can select a new subscription package. To cancel your Avios subscription, please visit My Subscription Account and select 'Cancel subscription' on Finnair Shop’s Avios Subscription page.
