What is considered liquid in carry-on baggage?

The rule of thumb is: if you can spread it, it’s liquid.

This includes, for example:

• Drinks
• Liquid or semi-liquid foods (soups, jams, honey)
• Toiletries and cosmetics (lotions, perfumes, toothpaste, shower gel, mascara, lip gloss)
• Sprays (shaving foam, hairspray, deodorant)
• Contact lens solution
