Carry-on bag

You can take one complimentary carry-on bag (55 cm x 40 cm x 23 cm / 22 in x 16 in x 9 in) when travelling with an Economy Superlight ticket on Finnair short-haul flights. Superlight tickets normally include only a small bag (40 cm x 30 cm x 15 cm / 16 in x 12 in x 6 in) that must be placed under the seat in front of you.

Checked bag

You get 50% off your first checked bag (max. 23 kg / 50 lb) purchased in advance. The discount doesn’t apply to special baggage such as sports equipment that’s larger or heavier than a standard checked bag.

To get the discount:

• the flight needs to be operated or marketed by Finnair, and
• the purchase must be made through Finnair’s digital channels or customer service in advance.

Check-in

You can use priority check-in with your travel partners for all Finnair flights (AY code on the ticket and flight operated by Finnair or Norra) and other oneworld flights, regardless of travel class.

Priority security

You can use the faster priority security lane at security control when you're travelling on a Finnair flight (AY code on the ticket and flight operated by Finnair or Norra). The benefit is personal.

Lounge

As a Finnair Plus Silver member, you get a discount on access to the Finnair Business Lounges at Helsinki Airport when travelling on Finnair flights (AY code on the ticket).

The discounted price is €30 or 4,800 Avios per person. You will get the discount when buying lounge access as a travel extra in advance through our digital channels.

You’ll earn two Lounge Passes to Finnair Lounges at Helsinki Airport as a milestone reward once you have collected 20,000 tier points.

Lounge Passes are valid for 12 months from the date you received them. You’ll find your unused Lounge Passes on the My Finnair Plus page. Unfortunately, information about Lounge Passes is not currently available in the Finnair app.

Please note that you cannot use the automatic gates with a Lounge Pass but need to enter via the lounge reception desk.

From 30 June 2025, Lounge Passes are no longer available for purchase in Finnair Shop.

All customers travelling on the same booking with a Finnair Plus Silver member can purchase lounge access to Finnair Business Lounges at Helsinki Airport at a discounted price. The benefit is not available for group bookings. To get the discount, lounge access must be purchased from Finnair digital channels or customer service.

Please note that you can only access the Finnair Lounge on the Schengen side when your flight departs from the Schengen area, and the Finnair Lounge on the non-Schengen side when your flight departs from the non-Schengen area.

All passengers over 2 years of age require their own lounge access.

Advance seat reservation

You’ll get a 50% discount from advance seat reservations for Finnair flights (excluding Comfort seats and seats with extra legroom). See all the Finnair seat types and select your seat.

Internet access

Starting from 1 November 2023, you can enjoy complimentary internet connection for messaging on Finnair short-haul flights within Europe that are operated with Airbus A319, A320 and A321 aircraft. The Message package supports sending text-based messages in WhatsApp, Viber, Kakao Talk, WeChat and iMessage throughout the flight (no pictures, videos or SMS). Complimentary internet connections are available when travelling on Finnair flights with AY code on a ticket.

More Avios and tier points

Your multiplier for Finnair flights (marketed and operated by Finnair) is 7. This means the money you spend on Finnair flights and travel extras will be converted to Avios and tier points with the multiplier 7. Find out more about collecting Avios from flights.

In addition you’ll earn 10% more Avios and tier points for American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia flights (AA/BA/IB code on the ticket) and Finnair codeshare flights with the Silver tier point multiplier.
