Going through security control
At the airport, you will have to go through security control before proceeding to the gate area. Security control may also be required when you are transferring to a connecting flight.
To smoothen the process, be prepared to place the following items on a tray for X-ray scanning:
- Your carry-on bag and personal item
- Overcoat, jacket, scarf, belt and other loose items
- Bag of liquids (max. 100ml packages in a 1-litre resealable plastic bag), including cosmetics, medicine and food items
- Electronic devices, such as laptops, headphones, cameras and power banks.
When departing from Helsinki Airport and going through the security control in the new departure hall, you can leave your laptop and other electronics as well as liquids in your carry-on bag unless otherwise requested.
If you are a transfer passenger and your connecting time is very tight, you may be instructed to use a dedicated lane for short connections. Please always remember to follow the instructions shown on the airport monitors.
