You can now select from three different ticket types for both Economy and Business Class: Light, Classic and Flex. They are available for all our flights within Europe, as well as for intercontinental routes with some exceptions.
We introduced the new ticket types on 31 March 2020. You can travel with the new tickets starting from 1 April 2020.
If you have bought your flight ticket earlier, you can travel with the original ticket without any changes required from you and enjoy the benefits included in the original ticket type.

What is new?
More choice to meet your needs
With our new ticket types, you’ll have even more choice to tailor your travel experience based on your personal needs.
Designed based on customer feedback, the new ticket types apply to both Economy and Business Class and are available for flights within Europe as well as for intercontinental routes with some exceptions.
When you prefer more benefits and flexibility included in the ticket price, select Classic or Flex. If you want to travel comfortably at the most affordable price, go for Light.
Regardless of your ticket type, you can always customize your trip with our wide selection of travel extras when booking your flight or later via Manage booking or the Finnair mobile app.
In addition, you can enjoy the same on-board service within the same travel class on the aircraft no matter which ticket type you choose.
Due to the coronavirus situation, we offer you flexibility for making reservation changes regardless of your ticket type and have updated our ticket change policy.
Economy Light now available on most routes
In addition to our flights within Europe and across the Atlantic, you can now travel light also from Europe to Asia. With Economy Light, you only pay for the services you need and can still enjoy the same Economy Class service, including a complimentary meal on intercontinental flights, as with the other ticket types.
Travelling with less baggage is also more sustainable – fewer bags equal less weight on the aircraft, which leads to less fuel consumption and ultimately lower flight emissions.
Benefits with the new ticket types
You can easily check which benefits apply to your journey based on your ticket type, travel class and the route you’re travelling. You may also get extra benefits based on your Finnair Plus tier.

Tickets purchased before 31 March
If you have purchased your flight ticket before 31 March 2020, there’s nothing to worry about: your original ticket and its benefits are still valid with no changes required from you.
Due to the fact that we sell flight tickets up to one year ahead, there will be customers travelling with both old and new ticket types for a maximum of one year starting from 1 April 2020.
Travel class upgrades
Whether you are travelling with a new or old ticket type, you can upgrade your travel class the same way as before.
If you choose to upgrade your travel class, the ticket change and refund policy will follow from the original ticket type. Otherwise you can enjoy the benefits of the upgraded travel class.
