Booking your flight

Via our easy-to-use online booking service you can buy tickets for all Finnair destinations and code-share destinations, flights operated by one of our partners. Learn more about our destinations and book your flights today!

The system offers you the lowest available price for the requested flight, date and number of passengers. You can book between 360 days and 1 hour before your flight.

Before making your reservation, it’s a good idea to find out about our travel classes and flight schedules – this will help you choose the travel class that’s right for you and plan the schedule of your trip. If your trip includes a connecting flight, remember to also check the minimum connecting times between flights.

If you cannot make your booking online, please contact our Customer Care. We are here for you. We help you also if you need tickets for unaccompanied minors or pensioners younger than 65 years.

Method of payment

You can purchase flights through our online booking service using:

  • ONLINE PAYMENT

    Sofort.

  • Credit card payment

    American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard/Eurocard and Visa.

  • Gift voucher

    A Finnair gift voucher can be used to pay for Finnair flights (flights with an AY code) that are booked through the Finnair website. If the value of the gift voucher is not enough to cover the full fare, you can pay the rest through other payment methods. The voucher can also be used for multiple purchases. You can only use one voucher per booking. The voucher cannot be used to pay for Finnair Plus award flights, Money+Points offers or Any Seat reservations.

  • FINNISH INTERNET BANKS

    Nordea, Danske Bank, Osuuspankki, Tapiola Pankki, Ålandsbanken, Handelsbanken, Aktia, Säästöpankki, POP Pankki and S-Pankki.

You can purchase flights through our mobile booking service using:

  • Credit card payment

    American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard/Eurocard and Visa.

You can purchase flights through our customer care using:

  • A payment link

    A payment link will be sent to you either via SMS or email. The link is valid for five hours. You can pay for your purchase with a credit card (American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard/Eurocard and Visa) or a debit card (MasterCard and Visa).

Customer authentication for secure payments

We are gradually using strong customer authentication in our purchase channels to ensure the safest possible credit and debit card payments for you. Thus, when you pay for your flights with your credit or debit card, you may be guided through an additional check.

In addition to your card details, you may be asked to verify yourself with another form of authentication, for example a onetime SMS password. The method of authentication depends on your bank or credit/debit card issuer.

Strong authentication has been introduced due to the Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2) that provides EU wide rules on secure remote payments. The security standard is universally also called 3D Secure and it is provided by credit card companies and banks for online purchases with a credit or debit card. Services using this are called Verified by Visa, Mastercard SecureCode, American Express Safekey.

Due to this change, buying tickets from our chatbot Finn is not possible for the time being.
