Direct flights to Phuket

Finnair flies directly from Helsinki to Phuket multiple times a week during the winter season. The flight time is 11 hours and 25 minutes. Phuket International Airport is located in the north of Phuket Island, 32 km northwest from the centre of Phuket City. You can get to the city centre in about 45–60 minutes by taxi and around 1 hour and 30 minutes by bus, depending on the traffic. However, the travel time may be longer during rush hours. Wat Chalong Temple – Phuket’s largest and most important Buddhist temple. While there, you can take the chance to learn more about Buddhism, marvel at the intricate architecture and take in the temple’s serene atmosphere.

Big Buddha – this awe-inspiring 45-metre statue is one of Phuket’s most important landmarks, making it a definite must-see.

Patong Beach – famous for its vibrant nightlife, but also an excellent place to simply relax on the golden sands or take up the challenge of parasailing and surfing.

Bangla Road – located in Patong Beach, this is the centre of the island’s nightlife. There you can find a number of bars, clubs, restaurants and plenty of entertainment, such as cabaret shows and street performers.

Sea activities – around the island, there are countless possibilities for diving, surfing and fishing. Or you can sit back on a cruise around the spectacular Phang Nga Bay, spot sea turtles on Nai Yang Beach or head over to Promthep Cape for gorgeous sunset viewpoints, where the mesmerising play of light dances across the sea.

Khao Phra Thaeo Wildlife Sanctuary – if you’re a nature lover, you’ll find this last remaining untouched rainforest of Phuket a true haven. Majestic waterfalls, fascinating wildlife and winding hiking trails – all of these come together to create a memorable experience.

Phuket Old Town – step into the history and culture of Phuket by taking a stroll around its old town. Explore the streets lined with colourful Sino-Portuguese architecture or treat your taste buds to local street food.

Phi Phi Islands – famous for their turquoise waters, white-sanded beaches and vibrant marine life, these islands are a must-see. For a truly unforgettable experience, you could go snorkelling and diving or take a boat trip to explore the islands and surrounding caves.

Similan Islands – these islands are particularly renowned for their underwater biodiversity. It’s a spectacular place for snorkelling or diving to admire vibrant coral reefs. Maybe you’ll even spot manta rays or whale sharks – gentle creatures that are harmless to humans!

Krabi – a stunning province located east of Phuket. Here you can enjoy everything from soaking up the sun on the beach and admiring the views of Krabi’s famous limestone cliffs to engaging in exciting activities such as rock climbing and kayaking through the province’s breathtaking surroundings.

Water – drinking bottled water is recommended in Thailand, as tap water is best used for washing and cooking.

High season – typically from November to February. Phuket tends to be more crowded also during local festivities, such as Songkran in April.
