Due to coronavirus, there are changes in our airport and inflight services. Health and safety measures

Avoid the queues at the airport and check in for your flight online.

Online and mobile check-in

Check in online on your computer or mobile device and avoid the queues. Online check-in opens 36 hours before departure (24 hours for flights to/from the United States), and the service is available 24 hours a day, wherever you are.

You can also easily check in with the Finnair app (available for iOS and Android).

However, please note that when you are required to present a certificate of a negative coronavirus test result or other coronavirus related documents required by your destination authorities before your flight, you will only receive your boarding pass from our ground crew at the airport check-in area. Please reserve enough time for this possible extra check at the airport. We advise you to arrive at the airport 2 hours before your departure or 3 hours before when departing to the USA.

Which flights does the service apply to?

  • All Finnair operated flights departing from Finland and from most destinations abroad – also when the journey includes a connecting flight.
  • If you are travelling on a flight operated by an airline other than Finnair or Norra, you need to check in in the operating airline’s online service or at their self-service kiosk or check-in desk.
  • Please note that Finnair does not have online check-in in the following airports: Dalaman, Dubrovnik, Rimini, Salzburg and Split.

How to check in online

To check in online, please log in to the service and follow the instructions. The process will give you all the information you need regarding what to do after check-in and which documents you need to take with you to the airport.
