Tampere – the sauna capital of the world
Tampere is an industrial city, located between two big lakes. It is the perfect place to discover Finnish sauna and go for a refreshing dip in the lake. The city is also a real treasure trove for culture-lovers, and there’s a whole host of theatres, art museums and other enticing attractions to discover.
You’ll find there’s plenty of exciting events going on throughout the year, from concerts to flower festivals and local ice hockey games. And, if you’re after fun and adventure for the whole family, plan on spending at least one day at Särkänniemi amusement park.

Flights to Tampere
Finnair offers direct flights from Helsinki to Tampere starting from October 2026 onwards. The flight time is 35 minutes.
Tampere-Pirkkala Airport (TMP) is located approximately 19 km northeast of the city centre of Tampere. You can reach the city from the airport in 40–50 minutes by bus or in 20 minutes by taxi.
