A ski destination with a twist

Covered in white powder snow there are majestic scenery, excellent skiing routes and a wealth of winter activities for all. Immerse yourself in quaint Austrian alpine charm on a winter holiday to Innsbruck.

Innsbruck’s massive mountain range makes it an impeccable winter destination for all ages. The magnificent Alpine surroundings offer endless outdoor activity options from skiing to ice climbingcross-country skiing and ski touring – just to name a few. There are suitable slopes for all skill levels from beginners to advanced skiers and free riders looking for a real adrenaline rush. Enjoy the world-famous pistes running down for almost 300 kilometres and ride the Nordketten cable car to the top to view the fabulous Alpine vistas.

The fairytale-like Renaissance castle Schloss Ambras houses a large collection of art alongside full suits of armour. The Gothic Hofkirche is worth a visit for the tomb of Maximilian I while the St. James Cathedral is a well-preserved example of baroque architecture. The Tyrolean State Museum collection highlights Innsbruck's integral relationship with its mountain home. To experience typical present-day Austrian life, explore the streets of the Old Town, shop at the Rathaus Gallerien or enjoy an evening stroll along Herzog-Friedrich-Strasse to find some delicious and hearty mountain fare.
