SUNSHINE AND CULTURE IN SPLIT
With over 2,600 hours of sunshine annually, Split is a wonderful Mediterranean destination for either a quick weekend getaway or a longer summer holiday.
As one of the oldest cities in the area, Split has many historical attractions. At the very centre of the city is Diocletian’s palace. Wander around the vast, fortress-like remains and enjoy the many restaurants and bars within its walls. Visit the Split Archaeological Museum to learn about the area’s history, or see some beautiful works of local art dating back to the 14th century at the Gallery of Fine Arts.
There are many big events in Split during the summer, including the Split Music Festival and Summer Theatre Festival. To get a different view of the city, rent a bike and enjoy the striking waterfront or climb up to the top of Marjan hill to enjoy a breathtaking view over the city. A must while in Split is also to visit a wine cellar and taste the delicious, world-renowned specialties of the Dalmatian area.
You can reach Split with Finnair and the oneworld alliance members’ extensive route network.
