Finnair ticket types: Light, Classic and Flex | Finnair United States

Finnair ticket types

We will introduce changes to our in-flight services starting 19 April. Read more
Premium Economy will gradually become available on our long-haul flights during 2022–2023.

You can choose between three different ticket types – Light, Classic and Flex – that are available for all our travel classes: Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy Class.

We have designed our ticket types based on customer feedback to let you choose the travel class, the level of ticket flexibility and other services you see as the best fit for yourself.

Latest on the ticket options

We first introduced the current ticket types in March 2020 and a year later presented new competitive one-way fares for short-haul flights. Since 15 June 2021, we have added even more choice and personalisation opportunities by introducing the new Business Light ticket type, making Economy Light available on all our flights from Asia and fine-tuning our other ticket types.

If you've booked your ticket before 15 June 2021, you can travel worry-free with your original ticket and have the services included in it. If you booked a Classic ticket before 15 June 2021 and change the completely unused ticket to new flights of a different fare (or a different routing), then you'll receive a new ticket with the updated change and refund conditions. All other benefits follow your original ticket.

As a Finnair Plus member or a oneworld frequent flyer, you continue to have all your tier benefits regardless of the ticket type you choose.

Our tickets in a nutshell

What's included in your ticket type

We believe transparency is essential for supporting you in picking the right ticket for your needs and, as a result, ensuring you have the best possible travel experience with us. Below you can check what's included in each ticket type and what travel extras can be purchased to further tailor your journey. The following is valid for tickets bought on or after 15 June 2021.

Not sure which ticket you booked or simply want to double-check? If you booked through Finnair's website, app or customer service, your ticket type is written in your booking confirmation email. If you booked through a travel agency, check your ticket type from booking confirmation or directly from the travel agency.
