Match your tier to Finnair Plus Silver or Gold

If you are a member of the SAS EuroBonus program, you can take advantage of the status match offer! All you need to do is join Finnair Plus, make a new flight booking for an eligible route and email us.  

Routes eligible for the tier match include all Finnair flight bookings where the departure or arrival country is Sweden.

You must have a one-way or round-trip flight booking, and your flight must be marketed and operated by Finnair. Book by 23 April 2026 and travel between 2 April–30 September 2026. 

If you are already a Finnair Plus member, your current Finnair Plus tier tracking period will reset to the date of the tier match. ​Finnair Plus tier status is valid for a year.  

Eligible statuses for a match

  • SAS EuroBonus Silver members will be matched with Finnair Plus Silver tier.
  • SAS EuroBonus Gold, Diamond and Pandion members will be matched with Finnair Plus Gold tier.
  • Finnair Plus Platinum and Platinum Lumo tiers will not be available for the match.

Follow these simple steps to enroll

  1. Log in as a member. If you are not yet a member, join now – it’s free and easy!
  2. Book one one-way Finnair flight or one Finnair round trip to or from Sweden.
  3. Send an email to loyaltystatus@finnair.com including
    • email subject: Status match
    • your first name and family name
    • your contact details: email and phone number
    • a photograph of your valid frequent flyer membership card (EuroBonus)
    • your Finnair Plus membership number
    • booking reference number of the booking that includes an eligible Finnair flight

Please note that your first name and family name should match between the application, flight booking, EuroBonus and Finnair Plus account. 

You must apply for the status match by 23 April 2026 at the latest. Once you send us an email, we will review your application within four weeks. If your application is accepted successfully, you will get a greetings email about your new Finnair Plus tier.

Status match

  • You are eligible for the status match if you reside in Sweden and have booked eligible flights. You do not need to have flown the booked flights before requesting the status match.
  • You must apply for the status match between 2–23 April 2026.
  • Flights must be booked between 2–23 April 2026. The travel period for all the flights is 2 April–30 September 2026.  
  • You can be matched to Finnair Plus Silver or Finnair Plus Gold tiers. Finnair Plus tier status is valid for a year.  
  • If you are already a Finnair Plus member, your current Finnair Plus tier tracking period will reset to the date of the tier match.  
  • Standard requalification rules apply to renew the status after the tier tracking period ends.  ​
  • The tier match will be removed if the booking is cancelled, the travel dates are changed to dates outside the travel period or you don’t show up for the flight (no-show).  
  • If you have previously participated in a Finnair Plus status match at any time or if your frequent flyer status has been matched to any Finnair Plus tier, you are not eligible to take part in the status match.
  • If you currently hold any Finnair Plus tier other than Finnair Plus Basic, we will not match the status to extend your current tier.
  • Finnair Plus terms and conditions apply. Finnair reserves the right to make changes at any time.  
  • Finnair Plus retains the right to end the offer before the planned end date. 

Eligible booking for the status match

  • Booking period: 2–23 April 2026.​  
  • Travelling period: 2 April–30 September 2026.  
  • Routes: all Finnair flight bookings where the departure or arrival country is Sweden.
  • Eligible ticket types: Economy Superlight, Economy Light, Economy Classic, Economy Flex, Premium Economy Light, Premium Economy Classic, Premium Economy Flex, Business Light, Business Classic, Business Flex; includes campaign fares.
  • A one-way or round-trip Finnair flight booking is required.
  • Award, free, contract or travel industry discount fare tickets are excluded.  
  • The flight must be marketed and operated by Finnair (flight number begins with AY).
  • Remember to add your Finnair Plus member number to your booking. Avios and tier points from the flight must be collected to your Finnair Plus account.
