Things to see and do near Toronto

Niagara Falls – one of the world's most famous waterfalls, located about 130 km from Toronto. In summer, enjoy misty boat rides and lush greenery; in winter, marvel at the partially frozen falls, surrounded by sparkling ice formations and snow-covered landscapes.  

Niagara-on-the-Lake – if you’re visiting Niagara Falls, it is also worth stopping by this charming historic town. Situated approximately 25 km from the waterfalls, Niagara-on-the-Lake is known for its picturesque streets, world-class wineries and the Shaw Festival Theatre.

Blue Mountain Resort – the largest mountain village resort in Ontario is nestled about 160 km northwest of Toronto and offers year-round activities. In winter, you can go skiing and snowboarding on its varied slopes and in the summer, enjoy hiking and mountain biking or take a scenic gondola ride.  

Stratford – this charming city is situated about 150 km southwest of Toronto. It is best known for the Stratford Festival, one of North America's largest festival theatres, which offers performances from April through November. In addition to the theatre, Stratford features a picturesque downtown, the scenic Avon River and numerous art galleries and boutiques.

Thousand Islands – a scenic archipelago on the St. Lawrence River and Eastern Lake Ontario areas, located about 265 km east of Toronto. The islands offer plenty of picturesque views and a wide variety of different experiences, from golf courses and boat tours to fishing and diving.

Wasaga Beach – the world's longest freshwater beach, ideal for swimming and water sports in summer, situated about 140 km north of Toronto.
