How to book with a Finnair gift card

1. Search flights on Finnair.com or app

Seeing prices in a currency other than €? Since our gift cards are in euros, please switch to a eurozone country from the location selector.

2. Select your flights and travel extras

Our gift card can be used for any flight sold on Finnair.com! If you prefer to book travel extras in Manage booking, you can also use the gift card there.

3. Choose gift card as payment method

In the payment step, insert the gift card number and PIN code. If the total exceeds the value of your gift card, you can pay the remaining sum using another payment method.

The following applies to all Finnair gift cards, including those given as compensation.

Usage

You can use one gift card per purchase. Combining gift cards is not possible.
Finnair gift cards are not personal. You can send the gift card to someone else or use it to purchase flights for others.
If the gift card's value doesn't cover the total, you can pay the remaining sum using another payment option (except Avios – currently, it is not possible to combine a gift card and Avios).
If the total is less than the gift card's value, the remaining balance stays on the gift card until its expiry date.
You cannot use Finnair gift cards for travel class upgrades, award bookings, bookings paid with money and Avios or onboard purchases.

Expiry

Finnair gift cards expire one year from the date of receipt.
Finnair always refunds to the customer's original payment method, including gift cards. If we refund a purchase to an already expired gift card, its validity automatically extends up to three months (from the refund date).

Gift cards and Finnair Plus

Finnair Plus members can collect Avios for flights booked with a gift card, just as they would on any other booking.
Finnair Plus members cannot collect Avios when buying gift cards on the Finnair Shop.

General

Finnair issues gift cards only in euros.
Finnair does not convert unused vouchers or any part of them into gift cards.
Finnair reserves the right to cancel gift cards if fraud or misuse is suspected.
Finnair is not responsible for lost gift cards.

Can't find or recall the gift card number or PIN?

Finnair gift cards are digital-only, so you should have received yours via email. Try searching your inbox for emails that contain 'Finnair' or 'gift card'.

If that didn't help and you didn't purchase the gift card or receive it from Finnair as compensation, check with the person who gifted it to you. Otherwise, you can contact the customer service via the chat.

We require a PIN to keep your gift card safe and protect it from unauthorized use.

Converting a compensation gift card

When you have received regulatory compensation in the form of a gift card, you can also convert that gift card to cash. Gift cards bought from Finnair Shop cannot be converted.

Key things to know about converting a gift card

When we give compensation as a gift card, we add 50% to its original monetary value. For example, if your compensation is €100, you will receive a €150 gift card. If you convert the gift card, you will receive the original compensation (in this example, that is €100) without the extra value.
It is not possible to convert the gift card to cash if it has expired or you have used it partially.
