Finnair Plus membership tiers and benefits

Flying with Finnair or our oneworld partner airlines gives you better benefits by helping you reach higher Finnair Plus membership tiers. The more you fly, the more benefits you gain.

Finnair Plus tiers at a glance

Finnair Plus loyalty program has five tiers: Basic, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Platinum Lumo.

As you reach higher Finnair Plus tiers, your benefits add up. Some of the key benefits at each tier include:

• Basic: Avios and tier points, member offers and rewards.
• Silver: free internet throughout the flight, priority services at the airport, 50% off your first checked bag and a discount on Finnair Lounge access.
• Gold: free Finnair Lounge access, free seat selection and four one-way upgrade benefits.
• Platinum: free access to Finnair Platinum Wing and Finnair Platinum Corner, free sports equipment and 12 one-way upgrade benefits.
• Platinum Lumo: free Finnair Lounge access for up to four guests, eight confirmed travel class upgrades and exclusive customer service.

You’ll get these benefits on Finnair flights (AY code on a ticket and flight operated by Finnair or Norra). 

Reaching Finnair Plus tiers

When you join Finnair Plus, you start off as a Basic member and your one-year tracking period begins. You’ll reach a new tier when you collect the needed number of tier points.

A tracking period always lasts 12 months, after which your tier points reset to zero and a new one begins. When you reach a new tier, that tier membership will continue for the rest of your previous tracking period plus the next 12 months.

You can collect tier points from:

• Flight and travel extra purchases with Finnair based on the money spent*
• Flights marketed or operated by a oneworld partner airline based on travel class, booking class and miles flown
• Purchases made with Finnair Visa Credit card (only available in Finland), when you make purchases of at least €1,500 per month

As a Finnair Plus Silver, Gold, Platinum or Platinum Lumo member, you'll earn 10–25% more Avios and tier points on top of the standard earning rate for American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia flights (AA/BA/IB code on the ticket).

*Excluding taxes, fees, other airport and service charges and travel extra purchases made on board the flight or in connection with an award flight.

Milestones – rewards within tiers

Milestones unlock rewards on your way to the next tier. You can reach them by collecting tier points, similarly to our membership tiers. Milestone rewards are added to your account automatically.

You can reach milestones only within your own membership tier. For example, if you're a Finnair Plus Gold member, you can get Gold tier milestone rewards.

Finnair Plus Lifetime

We have two Finnair Plus Lifetime tiers: Lifetime Gold and Lifetime Platinum. Once you reach a Lifetime tier, it will never be downgraded and you can always enjoy its benefits. 

Your Lifetime point balance consists of all tier points you earn during your Finnair Plus membership. You’ll reach the Finnair Plus Lifetime Gold tier with 2,000,000 Lifetime tier points, and the Finnair Plus Lifetime Platinum tier with 3,300,000 Lifetime tier points. You’ll earn tier points when you fly with Finnair and other oneworld airlines. You can check your Lifetime tier point balance by logging in to your Finnair Plus account.

Finnair Plus Junior

Children aged 2 to 17 can join Finnair Plus as Junior members. Membership is free, and a guardian must sign them up.

Finnair Plus Junior members can:

• Move up through the Finnair Plus membership tiers and enjoy the same tier benefits as adult members.
• Collect Finnair flight entries in the Logbook and receive a reward after 10 entries.

A Junior member’s Avios don’t expire during the Junior membership. Avios can’t be transferred to a Junior account, and the account cannot be linked to a British Airways Club account. The Junior membership changes automatically to a standard Finnair Plus membership when the member turns 18. The collected Avios remain valid for another 18 months after the Junior membership ends or longer if the member uses or collects Avios before expiry.
