When do my Avios expire?
If you collect or use Avios at least once every 18 months, they don’t expire.
Check your Avios validity anytime in the Finnair app or by logging in to your Finnair Plus account. Stay updated through the Finnair Plus newsletter – subscribe in your profile under Marketing preferences.
Ways to extend the validity of your Avios
- Collecting Avios from flights and travel extras
- Collecting Avios with Finnair Plus partners
- Collecting Avios with a Finnair Visa card (available in Finland)
- Using Avios on products and services like an extra bag, a travel class upgrade or a purchase in Finnair Shop
- Buying Avios
Transferring Avios doesn’t extend the validity of your Avios. This includes both transfers to other members and between different own loyalty program accounts (e.g. between Finnair Plus and British Airways Club).
How the 18-month period is counted
- If you collect or use Avios on the first day of a month, that month counts as month 1.
- If you collect or use Avios on any other day, the 18-month period starts from the beginning of the following month.
