An inspiring visit to the Aalto House

The architecture of the Aalto House is both inspiring and intimate, offering a glimpse into Alvar Aalto’s personal design philosophy and daily life. Every detail, from the furniture to the natural lighting, reflects his genius. For us, this was a meaningful and unforgettable experience.

Unwinding in Esplanade Park

Esplanade Park was the perfect place to unwind – the atmosphere was lively yet relaxing, and the surrounding cafés and restaurants made it even better. It was a great place to take a break, enjoy good food, and people-watch. As a bonus, we got to take part in the annual Marimekko Day – it was such a colourful, joyful experience that made the day unforgettable.

A peaceful lunch at Hanaholmen Hotel

Lunch at Hanaholmen Hotel was delicious, and the setting peaceful and elegant. We especially loved exploring the art installations around the property – each one added something unique to the experience. It’s such a lovely hotel, and next time, we’d love to stay there. One of the highlights was taking a boat to a small island near the hotel – it was a memorable and special moment that made the day even more magical.

An atmospheric dinner at Savoy

The food at Savoy was great, and the views of Esplanade Park were beautiful. Because the sun sets late, the warm evening light filled the dining room, creating a lovely, relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant was designed by Alvar and Aino Aalto, and you can feel their style everywhere – from the wood details to the lighting. We were so inspired by them on this trip!  It’s a special place that makes the whole experience even better.

Creative energy at Marimekko HQ

From the moment you walk into the building, you can feel the essence of the brand everywhere – in the vibrant colors, bold patterns, and creative energy. For visitors, the cafeteria Maritori is a great spot to enjoy a meal, and the Outlet store offers a wonderful selection of unique Marimekko products. It’s a must-visit for anyone who loves design and fashion.
