Reach more holiday destinations via Dallas

Finnair's new route to Dallas opens great flight connections. You can now easily get to some of the freshest and sunniest travel destinations around the Americas.

With a new, fast route to Dallas from Helsinki reaching the Americas is easier than ever. American Airlines has a wide network of connecting flights to North, Central and South America from Dallas, offering swift access to favourite holiday destinations. Here are some of our best picks of where you should travel via Dallas. 

Mexico 

American Airlines offers connections to over ten destinations in Mexico from Dallas, including familiar holiday spots. If you are looking for great beaches and a chance to do water sports, check out Cabo San Lucas on the Southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. Many of the beaches have astounding views of the areas typical rock formations. Cabo San Lucas also has a very lively nightlife with college students heading down from the USA to party there.

For something a bit more peaceful Puerto Vallarta is a good option. It has wonderful sandy beaches, lots of marine life, such as whales and turtles, and many protected natural parks and eco-tourism areas. 

Mexico even has good options for a city break, with American Airlines flying to some top destinations. One of the best places to visit is Oaxaca, an important cultural site. Its historical centre has World Heritage status, and the city boasts an impressive selection of museums including a Textile Museum and a Museum of Contemporary Art.

Caribbean Islands

The Caribbean is a dream destination for many. From Dallas you can easily reach several of the beautiful islands. One of the most popular tourist spots is Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. It is full of luxury resorts, sea, sand, and sun – perfect for pure relaxation.

Another great beachy option is Montego Bay in Jamaica. It has tons of activities to try out, fantastic food and even some city sights to check out. From Montego Bay you can easily explore the rest of the island for more authentic glimpses into Caribbean life. 

The remnants of Spanish colonialization can be seen in San Juan Puerto Rico. It has some of the most stunning colonial architecture in the entire Caribbean. The city has a very lively atmosphere with lots of shops and restaurants as well as plenty of events happening. Of course, the beaches are perfect too. 

If you want peace and unspoiled rejuvenation head out to Aruba. It is a small island and a favourite of honeymooners. The beaches and small towns tend to be uncrowded and easygoing. If you need a bit of excitement, you can try your luck in one of the casinos on the island.

Central America 

Central America has been gaining momentum recently with some of the coolest travel destinations found there. Belize is one of the best ones to start your adventures at. The country's nature is truly unique with tropical wilderness, caves, waterfalls, and a varied coastline. It attracts a wide variety of visitors from archeologists to bird spotters and watersport fanatics to hikers. 

Another option for nature enthusiasts is Costa Rica. It is known for its adventure sports, wildlife safaris and a lively surfing and yoga community. Costa Rica is perfect if you want to have an active and healthy holiday with a bit of relaxation thrown in.

Panama offers a lot of experiences too. Even Panama has many natural wonders and some of its most popular sites include natural parks, small islands, and of course, the Panama Canal. To balance things off Panama City offers rich urban culture. Its historical old town has plenty of atmospheric churches and plazas, but you can also visit vibrant new areas with modern architecture.
