Five reasons Finnair's long-haul Business Class is the ultimate way to travel

Our enhanced long-haul Business Class cabin is a true game changer. The last aircraft was modified during spring 2024 and now we offer our customers consistent experience across our entire A330 and A350 fleet.

With incredible seats, gorgeous Finnish design and food inspired by our roots as well as our destinations, our long-haul Business Class is set to be the ultimate way to travel between Europe, the USA, the Middle East and Asia. Here are five reasons why you should book a ticket now and get set to take to the skies.

AirLounge seat that maximises your comfort

It’s the first thing you’ll notice when you board. Our AirLounge seat redefines comfort in the skies, designed in collaboration with Collins Aerospace. The result is like nothing else in the air – a curved, fix shell seat that doesn’t recline, but rather offers a number of ways to sit. You can sit cross legged while reading, upright when working or kicking back with your feet up while enjoying the best our updated in-flight entertainment system has to offer. And you can, of course, lie flat and get some sleep as we fly you to your destination. The seat provides you with your own space for privacy and comfort, just as we value it in Finland.

A stunning menu

Our Business Class menu is inspired by Finnish flavours and the destinations we fly to. You can expect the best ingredients and menus where fresh Nordic flavours and local tastes from abroad meet. On most of our long-haul flights, we serve the delicious main meal after take-off and a lighter option just ahead of arrival. The main meal comes with two starters, a main course with three options, cheese, and dessert, matched with award-winning wines and other beverages.

On very late-night departures from Helsinki to Asia we first offer a light meal and later before landing a brunch with three main course options. We recommend you pre-select your preferred main course  to ensure your choice on board. As of January 2026, you will also have a fourth dinner main course option in the pre-selection, which won’t be available on board otherwise.

Nordic design touches

Bringing together the best Finland has to offer is what sets Finnair’s Business Class apart. As well as a comfy seat that taps into Nordic furniture design and a menu inspired by the delicious ingredients for which our homeland is famous, there are design touches throughout the cabin that give it a truly Finnish feel.

Iconic brand Marimekko has crafted the textiles, with vintage designs by Maija Isola. A Business Class welcoming entrance area has also been built with Nordic heritage in mind.

Beautiful tableware

Meanwhile, the tableware on board has been created by award-winning Finnish designer Harri Koskinen on behalf of Iittala. His Kuulas range of ceramics and glass makes the cabin feel homely and showcases the work of our brilliant chefs.

Koskinen and his team worked closely with the designers at Finnair and developed round plates and glasses, with the aim of making something beautiful and less like the average rectangular items that are often found on tray tables. Using ceramics, glass, and steel, Koskinen says there was no room for ‘fake options’. You’ll notice the authenticity as soon as you are served at your seat.

While we use the novel Kuulas dishes on everything else on our long-haul Business Class, the welcome drink is still served from the iconic Ultima Thule sparkling wine glass, which we first introduced on our New York route back in 1969.

New look in-flight entertainment

Making sure you’re entertained while relaxing in your AirLounge seat is a vital part of what we do. The in-flight entertainment system has been redesigned, with an 18-inch display ensuring you’ll be fully immersed in the latest movies and TV shows we have on offer.

What’s more, the darker tones of the intuitive user interface are more relaxing and easier on the eye, ideal for those who are searching for something to watch during the night. With USB-C connectivity, wireless charging and PC power, plus a flexible table set up, those who want to work are also well catered for.
