Baby bassinets and infant seatbelts
We have a few baby bassinets on all our Airbus A330 and A350 aircraft, which fly mostly on our long-haul routes. A couple of baby bassinets are also available on most of our A321 aircraft (Airbus A321 Sharklets 32B), which are used on selected short-haul flights within Europe. You can check the aircraft type for your flight in Manage booking or in the Finnair app. Keep in mind, though, that we may sometimes need to change the aircraft type even on a short notice due to operational reasons.
You can reserve a chargeable seat marked with a bassinet icon via Manage booking or in the Finnair app. If you have bought your flights or holiday package from a tour operator, you can still purchase your seat in Manage booking or in the Finnair app.
You may bring your own child seat or child car seat with you if your child is under 7 years old and you have reserved him or her a seat on board. Remember to read the safety requirements for your own infant seat or safety seat. Note that the Business Class seats on our A350 and A330 aircraft do not support the use of a child seat.
Our cabin crew will give you the baby bassinet and help you install it after take-off. The inside length of our baby bassinet is 70 cm (27.5 in), and the infant using the bassinet may not weigh more than 9 kg (20 lb).
If your child is under 2 years old, he or she must sit on an adult’s lap wearing a separate safety belt provided by the cabin crew, or in a child restraint device fastened to the aircraft seat – this is especially important during the take-off, landing and periods of irregularity (for example, those caused by turbulence).
Please note that everyone on board must sit in their own seat throughout the flight, including all children except for infants under 2 years of age. This also applies to the Business Class seats on our A350 and A330 aircraft.
