Seats on exit row

Note that most Extra Legroom seats and a few Standard seats are also exit row seats and have added responsibilities, including assisting fellow passengers in the event of an emergency.

To select an exit row seat, you must

  • be at least 12 years old
  • speak and understand English or Finnish
  • be able to open the exit door and assist the crew if needed.

You cannot sit in an exit row seat if you are in need of a wheelchair or medical assistance, have reduced mobility or visual or hearing impairment, or are travelling with an infant or a pet in the cabin.

It is not possible to use an extension belt on exit row seats.

A requested seat cannot be guaranteed, as it may need to be changed for operational, safety or security reasons.

The seat reservation fee will not be refunded if you cancel the flight, are involuntarily upgraded, or in case you are not suitable to sit in the seat type selected.

The seat reservation fee will be refunded if you cannot be seated in the reserved seat type or in a suitable alternative seat due to Finnair.

The seat reservation fee will be automatically refunded if you upgrade your travel class online. In other cases, please fill in the refund form.

Changes in dates are possible according to the terms and conditions of your ticket. If you have reserved a paid seat and you change your flight times in accordance with your fare rules, you need to reserve your paid seat again for the new flight. You may then apply for a refund of the costs of the seat reservation on the original flight.
