DB Rail & Fly

What is DB Rail & Fly?

Together with German railway company Deutsche Bahn (DB), Finnair is now offering a great combination of efficient travel – airplane and train. This way you can fly to one of our seven destinations; Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hannover, Munich or Stuttgart – and continue your voyage by train to over 5,600 different destinations in Germany. Make sure to choose a train connection arriving at the airport at least 2 hours before your scheduled departure time, and you’re good to go.

How to get the deal

When booking your Rail & Fly ticket, choose “Railway Germany QYG” from the departure / arrival menu.

When planning the train journey, please visit www.bahn.de for the timetables. Your train ticket is valid 24 hours within Germany on DB trains and selected transfer partners. Your Rail & Fly service is included in the ticket.

Download your mobile ticket from www.accesrail.com/checkin. We recommend to print your mobile ticket just in case. You can also pick up your train ticket against a pick-up number at any DB vending machine.

After your flight, go to the train station and hop on the train. Keep your ticket with you at all times.

When you return, make sure that your train arrives at the airport at least 2 hours before your scheduled departure time.

  • You can travel to 5,600+ DB train stations in Germany to/from Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hannover, Munich and Stuttgart airports.

Train tickets are valid one day prior or on the day of departure/arrival. Train tickets are valid in all DB trains (except motorail trains, charter-trains, Thalys, Cisalpino) on the whole DB network without limitation. The route travelled must be directly towards the destination.

After your flight booking, you will receive an additional confirmation email that indicates your DB pick-up number. Use this number to collect your train tickets from any DB long-distance ticket vending machine.

The train ticket is included in the flight ticket price and can only be used in conjunction with a Finnair flight. Please note that the ticket type (inbound, outbound, or both) does not include checked baggage. You can purchase extra baggage later in the booking process or via Manage Booking.
