Is it normal for hotels to ask for a credit card guarantee at check-in when on a Finnair Holidays trip?
This is a normal international hotel custom. Guarantee will vary depending on the hotel and will be confirmed upon check-in. By asking for a guarantee, the hotel prepares for possible extra room service or minibar costs or takes a security for the safe-deposit box or the television's remote control. The sum is returned to the credit card in full at checkout, if there are no remaining costs to be paid by the customer.
