A red-eyed tree frog strikes a pose at the La Paz Waterfall Gardens in Costa Rica. This is among the top 20 countries for biodiversity variety. Exotic wildlife, from sloths and monkeys to iguanas and crocodiles, is easy to spot. The bulging red eyes of this comical cartoon-like reptile might spoil its green disguise but they can serve to confuse predators.
