When the setting sun paints the sandy beach golden, it is time to head back to the hotel—but only to freshen up. As the night falls over Tel Aviv, the day is actually just about to begin.
The Mediterranean city is a holiday destination made for night owls. Tel Aviv’s restaurants and bars are open till late and the weekend never ends in the city’s bars and clubs.
Tel Aviv is the most laid back metropolis of the Middle East and like New York it is also called the Big Apple. The city has sky scrapers, modern shopping malls and trendy boutiques, but also history that goes back a thousand years. Walking along the meandering alleys of the port city of Jaffa, the most ancient part of Tel Aviv, is like stepping into the past. The journey from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem takes only an hour by bus.
Food culture is an important part of Tel Aviv’s charm. Thanks to people migrating from all corners of the world, the Israeli kitchen is a fascinating mix of Arab, Russian and European flavours.
