Side – beach holiday in a historical spa town
Turkey

The golden sandy beach stretches as far as the eye can see. And that is only the beginning: Side is a Turkish oasis for beach holiday makers with loads to do apart from sunbathing. Those seeking a more active holiday, there is kite surfing or you can try your hand at scuba diving. For golfers, the famous golf courses in Belek are less than an hour’s drive away.
The city of Side has a long and rich history. Located on a peninsula flanked by sandy beaches, the charming old town is overlooked by a majestic amphitheatre built in the Roman style, with performances during the summer season for culture lovers. The ancient walls next to the amphitheatre stand in guard of the notable ruins of Side, which are of great interest to visitors all the way from Antalya. The ruins are Side’s most important point of interest and count among the most significant ancient monuments in Turkey.
The ruins of the Temple of Apollo at the tip of the peninsula in front of the old town are stunningly beautiful. And who could be a better patron for sunny Side: in Greek mythology, Apollo was the god of light and sun.
