Menorca – the island for a relaxed beach holiday
Created by Mondo for Finnair
Did you know that Menorca has more beaches that the neighbouring Mallorca and Ibiza combined? Most of them are tiny coves hidden in between cliffs—just the kind where lovers want to keep all to themselves.
Menorca is a charming smaller sibling of Mallorca and, in addition to relaxing on the beach, it has a lot to offer active holiday makers. The varied landscape and sights are best admired using your own muscle power. Menorca has numerous marked cycling routes and from a kayak you can count the many beautiful lighthouses around the island. Horseback riding is also available, even for beginners.
Of Menorca’s towns, the most attractive is Ciutadella, where the old town still has imprints of its Roman and Moorish history. The mouthwatering smell of freshly baked ensaïmadas spreads from the bakeries on the narrow streets. When the day turns to dusk and the street lamps light up, it’s time to explore Ciutadella.
