    From London city centre to London Heathrow Airport

    London Heathrow Airport is located approximately 25 kilometres from the centre of London.

    You can reach London Heathrow Airport from the city centre using the London Underground. The Piccadilly Line operates regularly between the London region and the airport, with a travel time of about an hour. For London Underground schedules, visit the London Underground journey planner.

    A faster but slightly more expensive way to reach the airport is to take the Heathrow Express, departing from Paddington every 15 minutes. The trip takes roughly 15 minutes and the Express takes you directly to most of the airport terminals.

    From Manchester city centre to Manchester Airport

    Manchester Airport is located approximately 15 kilometres from the centre of Manchester.

    The fastest way to reach Manchester Airport is by train, departing every 10 minutes. The trip from Manchester to Manchester Piccadilly station takes about 15–20 minutes and it’s easily accessible from the airport terminals.

    You can also reach Manchester city centre with regional buses that operate regularly between Manchester city centre, Manchester Airport and the Manchester region. Finnair Lounges at Helsinki Airport

You will find the non-Schengen Finnair Lounge in the transit hall on the second floor, located between gates 36 and 37.

The Schengen area Finnair Lounge is located above gates 23 and 26 in the transit hall on the second floor.

Both lounges are available to Finnair Plus Platinum members, Finnair Plus Gold members, Finnair Plus Silver members, Finnair Club members and Business Class passengers.

In August 2014, Finnair will open a new Premium Lounge to complement the current Finnair Lounge in the non-Schengen area between gates 36 and 37. The new lounge will serve Finnair Plus Platinum and Gold members and their guests, as well as oneworld Sapphire and Emerald cardholders. Read more about Finnair lounges.

Transferring within terminals at Helsinki Airport

At Helsinki Airport, all oneworld flights arrive at and depart from Terminal 2. If you are transferring between oneworld airlines and already have your boarding pass, you can proceed directly to your departure gate. If you need assistance, you can find Transfer Services desks near gates 24 and 32 A.

All gates are located along the same short walkway, so you can reach your connecting flight quickly and easily.

If you are travelling to a non-Schengen country, please proceed through passport control.

Good to know before your flight

The most important thing to remember before your flight is to ensure that your passport and visas are valid throughout your whole journey; many countries require that your passport is valid for three to six months after your trip has ended.

  • If you haven’t reserved a seat in advance, you can choose your seat from those that are available, free of charge, when checking in for your flight.
  • Airport check-in and Bag Drop desks open at the latest two hours before departure.
  • Check-in closes 45 minutes before departure.
  • Priority Lane through security control is available for Business Class passengers as well as for Finnair Plus Platinum, Gold and Silver members.
  • Allow yourself enough time to leave your baggage at Bag Drop and to go through airport security checks, as you may have to queue, particularly at peak times. See minimum check-in times
