Flights to Warsaw
Discover the remarkable beauty of Poland’s capital city
Warsaw is one of the fastest growing capitals in Europe and its remarkable beauty comes as a surprise to many visitors. Razed to the ground during WWII, the Old Town was rebuilt and restored to its former glory in the 1950s. Today, the historical centre of Warsaw proudly features amongst the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Sights not to be missed include the baroque style Royal Castle and the colourful Market Square with its many restaurants.
Other points of interest include the Warsaw Uprising museum, which is dedicated to the uprising against the Nazi occupation in 1944. Other reminders of the city’s varied history include the Warsaw Ghetto memorial and the square from which Jews were sent to the annihilation camps. The Palace of Culture and Science, a gift from Stalin to the people of Warsaw, evokes mixed feelings even today, but there is no denying that the view from the 30th floor of the colossal high-rise building is breathtaking. If you get tired of the hustle and bustle of city life, a visit to the Wilanow palace and the vast Lazienki Park (Royal Baths) offer you a chance to relax just outside the city centre.
