How much does it cost to travel with my guitar?
Guitars and other musical instruments up to 23kg and external dimensions no more than 90cm x 75cm x 45cm (35in x 30in x 18in) are usually carried as checked baggage in the hold of the aircraft and therefore they must be packed in a hard case. If there is space available, guitars may sometimes be taken to the cabin. Unfortunately, this cannot be confirmed until you arrive at the check-in desk. Please note that if you take your guitar to the cabin, you cannot have any other carry-on baggage apart from a small bag (40x30x15 cm). This rule does not apply if your ticket type is Superlight, in which case you may only carry a small bag.
Larger musical instruments up to 32kg and/or 190cm x 75cm x 65cm can be carried for an additional heavy bag charge.
Please note that if your guitar exceeds your baggage allowance, an extra bag charge applies. Please see the charges here.
