First aid

 

All Finnair aircraft are equipped with the following tools for use in case of an acute illness during the flight:

  • Medical oxygen
  • MediBox first aid kit – contains pain medication, nasal drops, diarrhoea medicine and bandages.
  • First Aid Kit – contains bandages, splints, plasters, etc.
  • Emergency Medical Kit – for use by a medical doctor; contains, for example, a blood pressure monitor, stethoscope and first aid medications.
  • Intravenous Kit – to be used by a qualified physician or other medical professional for the purpose of administering intravenous fluids in case of severe illness or injury.
  • Infection Kit – to be used by the cabin crew for the protection of passengers and staff in case of an inflight infection or suspected case of an infectious disease.
Airbus A340-300, A330-300 and Boeing 757 aircraft also have a defibrillator to treat acute heart arrhythmias. The cabin crew has been trained in its use.
