Please note! The service does not apply to code-share flights operated by Finnair’s partner airlines, Finnair Leisure flights, Finnair Plus award flights or journeys that include a connecting flight operated by another airline. |
Start using the text message service
You can start using the service automatically by adding your mobile phone number to your Finnair Plus profile information. At the same time, you can define your seating preferences in the Travel information section. Remember to keep your mobile phone number information up to date!
Please read the instructions.
How to check in via text message
- You will receive a text message from Finnair containing the information about your flight.
- Check the information and confirm the check-in by replying with the letter “A” to the text message.
- Once the check-in has been confirmed, Finnair will send you a confirmation text message in English. Keep the message for the security and passport control.
- Show the confirmation text message at airport service points when flying from Finland or Sweden.
- On departure from any other country than Finland or Sweden, the confirmation text message includes a link to a mobile boarding pass, which you should show to the authorities. To be able to open the link, your phone has to be equipped with a functioning Internet connection. Otherwise you will have to pick up a paper boarding pass from the check-in desk or the Baggage Drop desk.
For morning flight departures, you will receive the message between 17:00 and 19:00 on the evening prior to departure. For afternoon flight departures, you will receive the message approximately three hours before departure. All flights included your out- or inbound journey will be displayed in the same message and are checked in with the same message.
Baggage
If you only have carry-on baggage, please go straight to the security control. If you are carrying checked baggage, you can simply leave your baggage at the Baggage Drop desk within the normal check-in times. At airports in Finland (except for Helsinki-Vantaa), baggage is handed in at the normal check-in desks.
