The meal includes an optional appetiser or soup of the month, as well as an optional dessert or cheese platter with coffee or tea.
Intercontinental flights Economy Class
The meals in the Economy Class are tasty and high-quality, basic meals that vary depending on the duration of the flight and time of the day. You also receive a bottle of fresh spring water when you board the aircraft. During the film presentation you can obtain beverages from the rear kitchen on the aircraft. An exception to this is the Bangkok route, where alcoholic beverages are served from the trolley only. In addition, snacks listed in the Finnair Entertainment brochure are available for purchase in Economy Class.
The Economy Class on intercontinental flights offers an extensive selection of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. There is sparkling wine, cognac, whisky, vodka, liqueur and gin available for purchase.
European flights
In the Economy Class of European flights we usually serve a warm meal on Airbus flights with a duration of over two hours. On the Embraer aircraft we serve a cold meal and during shorter flights, a snack.
On oneclass flights we serve a meal or a snack, depending on the aircraft type and destination. The meals as well as soft drinks, beer and wine are free of charge in Economy Class and on oneclass flights, but sparkling wine, cognac, whisky, gin, vodka and cream liqueur are for purchase on flights lasting more than two hours.
In Business Class on European flights we mainly serve a three-course lunch or dinner, including a warm main dish. The full, healthy breakfast served on our morning flights, also includes a warm meal. During shorter flights, we serve either a cold or warm meal, depending on the destination and time of day.
Domestic flights
We serve a small breakfast or snack on all our Northern Finland flights. There is a coffee or juice service on flights to and from Central or Southern Finland. After 11:00 we offer refreshments and alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, sparkling wine, Koskenkorva Vodka cranberry drink, cognac and Jägermeister) for purchase on Northern Finland flights. Special meals are not available to order on domestic flights.
Special service on domestic scheduled flights
Special service can be ordered for a group travelling on a domestic flight, if the group has reserved the entire aircraft. The service will be paid for by the person placing the order. The order must be placed well in advance of the departure, either at the travel agent or Finnairs Customer Care Center.
Leisure flights
On Leisure flights lasting over three hours, coffee, tea and a hot meal will be served. The standard meal offered on the flight is light and low-lactose. Meals served on the return flight normally come from the destination.
On Leisure flights you can also order a delicious Premium meal to celebrate the start of your holiday.
A Premium meal includes an optional beverage, which you can select from the drinks trolley. Premium meals are only available on Leisure flights that depart from Finland and are estimated to last in excess of three hours 25 minutes. If the flight includes a stopover, the meal is served on the first leg of the flight. Depending on the destination and aircraft type, the presentation of the meal may differ from the pictures, but the portion size is the same on all our flights. Depending on the aircraft type, it is possible that only a limited number of Premium meals can be served on each flight.
You can order a Premium meal at the earliest 30 days before departure and at the latest eight days before departure. Place your order here.
