International flights from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport
- The airport information boards, monitors and your boarding pass show you the departure gate number and the time when the boarding starts.
- Check in before coming to the gate – at the latest at the transfer desk, if you travel without checked baggage.
- At many airports, public announcements informing passengers of boarding, are only made near the departure gate so be sure to follow the departure information on the monitors.
- Your identity may be verified at the departure gate as well.
Passengers using wheelchairs and other travellers needing assistance, are allowed to board the aircraft first on all flights. On scheduled flights, families with children and children travelling alone are allowed to board before others as well.
Domestic flights from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport
- You will see the departure gate number on the airport information boards and monitors.
- If you travel with carry-on baggage only, you can report at the gate no later than 20 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
- At many airports, public announcements informing passengers of boarding, are only made near the departure gate so be sure to follow the departure information on the monitors.

Children travelling alone, families with small children, passengers using wheelchairs and other travellers needing assistance are allowed to board first on domestic flights without reserved seats. There is no pre-seating on domestic flights.
