Check-in at the check-in desk
If you have not used the check-in self-service, you can of course check in for all flights as normal at the airport check-in desk. You will find the correct check-in desks for your flight displayed on the airport monitors.
The check-in for scheduled international and domestic flights at Helsinki-Vantaa airport normally opens at 04:30, and at 05:00 for Business Class. The check-in for Leisure flights opens two hours before the flight departure time.
When departing from Helsinki-Vantaa, you can usually check in for your return flight as well, and at international destinations, for connecting flights within Finland. At other airports in Finland, you can also check in for your international connecting flights departing from Helsinki.
Check-in for early morning flights
At Helsinki-Vantaa airport, you can check in for early morning flights on the evening prior to departure between 20:00 and 21:30. One member of the family can bring the baggage for the whole family, provided that he or she also brings along all tickets and his or her own travel documents. This saves time on the morning of the flight since the whole family can go straight to the security control.
Check-in desks at Helsinki-Vantaa airport:
- All Finnair and Finncomm Airlines flights depart from Terminal 2.
- Check-in for Finncomm Airlines flights and most Finnair flights: Check-in area 201–232.
- Check-in for intercontinental Finnair flights departing between 16:00 and 19:00: Departure Hall 4 (check-in desks 400–423).
- Check-in for Finnair Leisure flights: Check-in area 201–232 or Departure Hall 4 (check-in desks 400–423).
Check-in desks for Finnair Plus Platinum, Gold and Silver members:
- You can check in for scheduled flights at the Business Class check-in desk regardless of your travel class.
- You can check in for oneclass flights at the Business Class check-in desk at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport and at a separate check-in desk in Ljubljana and Tallinn.
Did you know this about Hong Kong?
In Hong Kong, you can check in for your flight at the check-in desks at Hong Kong and Kowloon railway stations even if you have checked baggage. The check-in is open from 05:30 and closes 90 minutes before departure.
