Why so serious?
Sink your worries in hectic Helsinki
Like any capital, Helsinki is big, bulky and crowded. It is also the city that offers the best all-around Finnish experience bringing together some of the best bits of Finland. Summer time in Helsinki means picnics in the parks, so fill your basket with traditional Finnish finger food such as Karelian pies and head off to the nearest seaside park (you'll find plenty of those in Helsinki).
For an all-encompassing Helsinki experience, avoid the tourist crowds of the Market Square and the Esplanad and head off to the districts of Eira, Punavuori and Kallio for a glimpse of stunning architecture, no-fuss Finnish design and bars frequented by locals.
