When you join Finnair Plus, you’ll start off in the Basic tier and will receive your Basic membership card after one accrual transaction. Your card is valid for the duration of your Basic membership, or until you move up to the Silver tier. In addition, your one-year tracking period will start – this tracking period will recur automatically on a yearly basis.

You can now earn tier points when you take flights operated by Finnair and the other oneworld airlines. Collecting tier points allows you to move up through the Finnair Plus membership tiers.

Basic tier membership benefits in brief:

If you're a Basic member, you’ll move up to the Silver tier once you achieve the following during your Basic tracking period:

• collect 40,000 tier points, or
• take 24 Finnair or oneworld scheduled flights*

When you become a Silver member, you’ll receive your Silver membership card automatically and can start using Silver tier benefits immediately. Your Silver membership will continue for the rest of your Basic tracking period plus 12 months.

To maintain your Silver tier membership, you must achieve the following during your tracking period:

• collect 40,000 tier points, or
• take 24 Finnair or oneworld scheduled flights*

If you don’t have enough tier points to renew your Silver membership when your tracking period ends, you can, if you wish, make up the difference by exchanging some of your award points for tier points. To exchange points, contact the Finnair Plus Service Center. There is a service charge for each exchange.

In the case that you haven’t collected sufficient tier points to remain a Silver member, you will become a Basic member again. If this happens, your tier point balance will be set to zero and a new tracking period will begin.

The Finnair Plus membership tiers are aligned with the oneworld frequent flyer tiers, which ensures that you’ll always receive the benefits due to you when you take oneworld flights. The Finnair Plus Silver tier is equivalent to the oneworld Ruby tier – that’s why your Finnair Plus Silver membership card bears the oneworld Ruby tier symbol.

Silver tier benefits in brief:

• all Basic tier benefits
• 10% Silver tier point multiplier – earn 10% more points for Finnair flights
• access to the Priority Lane – skip the queues for security control
• 10% off in the Finnair Tax-Free Shops – this applies to all standard-priced goods purchased when travelling on scheduled Finnair flights bound for destinations outside Europe
• 5% off all standard-priced goods in Finavia duty-free shops
• Business Class check-in for all Finnair flights regardless of travel class*
• Business Class check-in for all flights operated by oneworld airlines, regardless of travel class

Whether or not you meet these targets will be assessed with respect to your one-year tracking period only. If your two-year tracking period is still valid, please check your point targets from the Finnair Plus Service Center.

• The option to exchange your four European travel class upgrades for a one-way long-haul upgrade or a two-for-the-price-of-one Classic award flight.*
• Reserve a confirmed Business Class or Economy Class seat on any Finnair flight up to 48 hours before departure.**
• Access to award-winning Finnair Lounge for you and one other person regardless of your travel class, provided that you and your guest are travelling on the same Finnair scheduled flight. See all lounge services.
• Access to oneworld Business Class lounges for you and one other person regardless of travel class, provided that you and your guest are travelling on the same flight.
• Take one piece of special baggage free of charge on all Finnair leisure flights and Finnair scheduled international flights. The following items can be taken as special baggage: golf equipment (a set of clubs and a golf bag), ski equipment (skis, sticks, shoes and ski bag) and diving gear (pressure tanks must be empty). To use this benefit, you must send an e-mail to edut.lomalennot@finnair.fi at some point between 45 and 8 days of your departure date. The e-mail should contain your name, membership number, membership tier, destination, date of travel, booking reference and flight number.***

Finnair Plus Junior is our frequent flyer program for travellers aged 2 to 17 years. Just like Finnair Plus, membership is free, and you can earn points when you buy products and services from us or the members of our extensive partner network. Your Finnair Plus Junior membership is valid until you turn 18.

Finnair Plus Junior benefits in brief:

• use your points to buy award flights and take advantage of exclusive Finnair Plus Junior award offers – remember, you need to get permission from a parent or guardian to purchase an award
• get a 50% discount on the normal point cost of Finnair award flights – this benefit is even available when a Finnair Plus Junior flight award is charged to the account of a family member*
• any points you earn as a Finnair Plus Junior member are valid for the duration of your Finnair Plus Junior membership and only expire three years after you become a standard Finnair Plus member
