Shopping at the airport

A couple waiting for a flight at the airport

At the Finnair Shop, you’ll find not only perfumes, cosmetics, alcohol and tobacco products, but also a varied selection of confectionary, gift items, electronics, silk items, clothes, bags and toys – all from world-famous high quality brands.

You can only purchase tax-free alcohol and tobacco products if you are travelling outside the EU. However, even if you’re travelling within the EU, you’ll find that our prices are more economical than those generally available across Finland.

Every month, there’s a new selection of Best Buy items on sale, and our perfumes department even offers weekly discounts and product demonstrations.

Transporting liquids on connecting flights

If you have a connecting flight departing from an airport in Europe, you can take liquid products on board the aircraft, provided that you have purchased them at an airport within an EU country or on board a flight operated by an airline from an EU country. Additionally, your connecting flight must depart within 36 hours of the time that you purchased those liquids – this must be verifiable from the date and time marked on your purchase receipt. Any items which you have purchased from an airport tax-free shop must be packed in sealed plastic bags and the receipt must be placed inside the bag so that it can be read from the outside.

If you arrive at Helsinki Airport on a flight from a non-EU country and are transferring onto a connecting flight, you cannot take containers of tax-free liquid larger than 100 ml into the cabin. However, tax-free liquids in containers smaller than 100 ml may be carried in the cabin.
