Citizens of Finland and Scandinavia

Flights within Finland and Scandinavia:

  • Passengers of 16 years and over must carry a passport, picture identity card, picture social security card (Kela card) or driver’s licence (older cardboard driver’s licenses are accepted).
  • Passengers under 16 years travelling with their parents are not required to have an identity card of their own.
  • Passengers of 12–15 years travelling alone must carry either a passport, picture identity card or picture social security card (Kela card).
  • Passengers under 12 years travelling alone and carrying a properly completed UM Advice form are not required to carry an identity card of their own. However, the persons seeing them off and receiving them at their destination must prove their identity with a valid form of identification (for example, an official identity card or a passport).

Flights within the Schengen Area and EU countries plus Switzerland:

  • A passport or a picture identity card of the type introduced on 1 March 1999 and complying with EU standards for indicating the individual's nationality and card validity (not a driver’s licence).

Flights to destinations outside the EU:

  • Passport and, when necessary, a valid visa.

Other EU nationals and citizens of Switzerland

Flights within Finland, and between countries in the Schengen Area or the EU:

  • A passport or a picture identity card complying with EU standards for indicating the individual's nationality and card validity.

Flights to destinations outside the EU:

  • A passport and, when necessary, a valid visa and/or other mandatory travel documents for the country in question.
