Some facts about the new product:Economy Comfort is a new seating option within long haul economy class, NOT a 3rd cabin class.
All seats are free for PRO fares, but are charged for H class for joint business fares. However, due technicalities also AJB/SJB have free seating until further notice.
Instructions will also be updated here shortly.
More information about the co-operation

Since the seating in Amadeus is made according to a "flight-seating" -mode, the customer will see a pseudo -seating number in the reservation itinerary and e-ticket itinerary. In the PNR on the SSR-lines you will however see correct seating. Therefore it is very important you inform the passenger the corresponding actual seat number onboard the train. The seating is always in coach number 2 and you can insert in the PNR on RIR (will show in reservation itinerary) and RIZ (will show in e-ticket itinerary) -lines the coach number and seating number.
Cryptic entry for Amadeus:
RIR YOUR SEAT ON THE TRAIN IS 35 IN COACH NUMBER 2
RIZ YOUR SEAT ON THE TRAIN IS 35 IN COACH NUMBER 2
You can before and after the RIR/RIZ -lines containing the seating information also insert RIR/RIZ -lines containing only '*' to increase the visibility.
seating for the flights according to normal processes.
-In St. Petersburg the check-in is done in the railway
station. After you have shown the passport to the clerk and it has been checked, you will be allowed to move to the platform area and coach number 2.
-In Helsinki you can go directly to the train and coach number 2.
Check-in document for the train is the passport. It is
also good to have with a copy of the electronic ticket and if possible the
seat-map converter. Naturally visa(s) must be brought with (and possible other
travel documents depending on the nationality of the passenger).
The documents will be checked by both Finnish and Russian immigration officials; in good time before crossing the border and after crossing the border.

Amadeus travel agencies can already book airline fare families via Amadeus and easily access important information on fare conditions, as well as services and options associated to a specific fare family.
The new upsell functionalities include:
- the price by fare family transaction
- the upsell teaser, an additional appended message line returned upon any pricing/best pricing transaction that highlights the price difference between the priced fare and the lowest fare in the next higher fare family.
- the upsell transaction that returns up to 6 proposals in the next higher fare families from an already priced or not PNR.
Once the teaser or the various upsell proposals have been displayed, it is possible to easily rebook the PNR in the proposed fare.
travel agencies worldwide will benefit from the ability to easily upsell for
those airlines that have subscribed to the solution. Easy flow will enable to
offer customers higher fares that bring more value (such as additional services, more
flexibility, extra mileage accrual). They will also be able to easily rebook
in the proposed fares.

Finnair resumes the use of West Ukrainian airspace for some of its flights as of August 27. Several European airlines already use West Ukrainian airspace and there have been no restrictions in the use of the airspace in West Ukraine.
Finnair may use West Ukrainian airspace for example on its flights to Bulgaria, Israel, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Eastern Europe and Southern Europe, when it is feasible, taking into account weather conditions and other factors impacting the choice of flight routes.
Finnair adheres to the guidance of Eurocontrol, European Aviation Safety Agency and local authorities when choosing its flights routes in Europe.
There are still flight restrictions in the Crimean area and in Eastern Ukraine, and Finnair has avoided the use of airspace in these areas since this spring. Flight restriction areas over these conflict areas have built-in safety marginal and they are thus considerably larger than the crisis areas.

Finnair extends its deepest sympathies to those affected by the tragic flight accident in Ukraine on Malaysia Airlines' flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. It is a tragic event for the whole aviation community. Finnair stands by its oneworld partner Malaysia Airlines and is ready to assist in any way it can.
Many people have since asked about Finnair flight practices and the potential impact of the tragic event on Finnair operations and routes.
Since late April, Finnair has not flown in the airspace of Eastern Ukraine, following the recommendations of Eurocontrol. Eurocontrol recommended last spring that airlines should not fly in the airspace of Simferopolin in the Crimea crisis area in Eastern Ukraine. Finnair has no regular flights that would fly in the Dnipropetrovski airspace where the accident took place yesterday.
Finnair has continued flights in Western Ukrainian airspace and Eurocontrol has not had any flight restriction recommendations regarding this particular area.
Yesterday evening, however, Finnair decided that the company will not fly in Ukrainian airspace at all on Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19. The company will evaluate the situation very carefully over these days and consider the recommendations and decisions of the aviation authorities when making any further decisions.
The alternative routes bypassing Ukraine are slightly longer and therefore some Eastern Mediterranean flights might be slightly delayed. It is also possible that the changes will indirectly cause minor delays in some other flights due to fleet rotation. Finnair regrets any inconvenience this might cause to its passengers but wants to emphasize its commitment to safety.Finnair's Asian flights to and from Helsinki are flown using routes further north and are therefore not impacted by events in Ukraine.
Waitlists are handled directly via the PNR and you will see the answer directly or with a short delay for E- and U-class. For E- and U-class you queue the request to TAYAY0550 Q15.
SSRs will be handled via the PNR and you will see the answer directly or with a short delay.
Kindly note that the above mentioned requests are not handled via phone.
Following extract is taken from Department of Home Affairs, South Africa. Please see important information highlighted in red.
"The Department of Home Affairs has provided a grace period to allow children to travel with parents or guardians without an unabridged birth certificate until end of September 2014.
This means that families will be able to travel with children even for the coming school holidays as some would have made the necessary arrangements ahead of the commencement of the Immigration Amendment Acts of 2007 and 2011 and the new Immigration Regulations. The Amendment Acts and the new Regulations came into effect on 26 May 2014.
From 01 October 2014, the requirement for an unabridged birth certificate for children travelling with parents will come into effect for the safety of children, including their protection from child trafficking, abduction and kidnapping.
The Department urges citizens and foreign nationals to heed the call to apply for unabridged birth certificates for children. An unabridged birth certificate of the child reflecting the particulars of the parents is required in terms of the Immigration Regulation 6 (12)(a) for children travelling with parents."

"In anticipation of the virtual multi-purpose document (vMPD) sunset and by the regional request of local airlines, IATA organized two workshops in Singapore and Miami which represented the most impacted regions by vMPD volume. The enthusiasm was shared by more than 60 industry colleagues that participated in these events and almost 30 airlines were represented.

The vMPD deadline is extended in all BSPs until 30 June 2014
The following BSP will continue to accept vMPD until 31 October 2014:
