Electronic equipment
You can use a variety of electronic devices onboard Finnair flights, with certain limitations. Please review the information below before your flight. Please note that Finnair recommends you to pack electronic devices in your carry-on baggage.
The following items may be used at any time during the flight:
- Devices powered by micro battery cells
- Devices powered by solar cells
- Electronic watches
- Hearing aids (including digital devices)
- Paging receivers
- Pacemakers
- Insulin pumps
| Radio-frequency data links that may be used in medical devices, (for example, wireless blood-sugar monitors) must be turned off for the duration of the flight. The airline is not responsible for any malfunction caused by pressure fluctuations. |
You may use the following devices when the Fasten seatbelt sign is switched off:
- Laptops with CD-ROM or DVD drives
- Palm organisers
- Handheld calculators without printers
- Portable audio equipment (for example, cassette, CD, MiniDisc and MP3- player; Walkman, Discman)
- Portable game consoles, for example, Gameboys
- Video and digital cameras
- Display units (excluding cathode ray tubes)
- GPS satellite navigators
- Electric shavers
- Electronic toys (excluding remote controlled toys)
- Mobile phones in flight mode, which means calls cannot be placed or received, but other functions of the phone may be used.
- Mobile phones may be used to place or receive calls on board only with the permission of the crew when the aircraft is on the ground and the Fasten seat-belt sign is switched off.
The following devices must be switched off at all times on board the aircraft:
- Devices transmitting RF-signals
- Walkie-talkies
- Remote-controlled toys
- Display units with cathode ray tubes, such as wireless computer equipment (for example a mouse)
- PC printers
- CD writers and Mini-Disc recorders in recording mode
- Big portable stereo sets
- Pocket radios (AM/FM)
- TV-receivers
- Telemetry equipment
- Bluetooth-devices
