Excess-baggage fees
If you have special baggage or you wish to carry more baggage than permitted by your baggage allowance, you can do so by paying an excess-baggage fee.
You can use our online excess-baggage calculator to find out how much baggage you can take on your flight and calculate the cost of any additional or overweight baggage you may have. You can even pay for your excess baggage in advance on our website – and remember, if you pay online, it’s cheaper than if you pay at the airport.
The regulations on these pages apply to flights operated by Finnair – if your ticket includes flights from other airlines, IATA standards define which airline’s baggage regulations apply to those flights.
You can check your baggage allowance from your ticket. If you are travelling with baggage that exceeds your baggage allowance, you will have to pay excess-baggage fees as defined by the airline that is carrying out the check-in.
