Pets
Small cats, dogs and rodents may be carried in the cabin on Finnair scheduled flights, with certain restrictions. Pets weighing more than 8 kg (17 lb) must be transported in the hold of the aircraft. On Finnair leisure flights (AY1000 series), all animals must be transported in the hold, with the exception of guide dogs and duty dogs.
Birds, snakes, lizards and insects must be transported as cargo.
The regulations on these pages apply to flights operated by Finnair. If your ticket includes flights operated by other airlines, please check their baggage regulations.
Country-specific exceptions
Pets cannot be carried on flights to Hong Kong, not even as cargo. On flights to other destinations in China, only cats and dogs may be carried in the cabin or hold – other animals must be transported as cargo. On flights to England, Ireland, Dubai, Toronto and Australia, pets are not allowed in the cabin or hold as baggage, and must be transported as cargo.
