Carry-on baggage

If you’ve accidentally left a personal item with us, whether on one of our aircraft, in one of our buildings or in one of the public areas of Helsinki Airport, you can enquire about it from the Finland’s Found Property Service - just call +358 600 41 006.


Checked baggage

If your baggage does not arrive or is damaged, you can file a report in one of three ways:

  1. Contact the Arrival Service desk in the arrivals hall.
  2. Fill out our Baggage Tracing Form and e-mail it to us. Please describe the bag or other lost item as accurately as possible in the “Type of bag” field. You can monitor the delivery progress of your delayed baggage at www.finnair.com/bag If your baggage does not arrive within 72 hours, please provide us with more specific information so that we can continue the search.
  3. If your baggage is destined for Helsinki, you can also call the Arrival Service at Helsinki Airport between 07:00 and 21:00 on +358 10 389 2000, or contact us by e-mail.

Claiming compensation

If your checked baggage is damaged, you should send us a written request for compensation as soon as you notice the problem, or at the latest within seven days of receiving your baggage. If your baggage has been delayed, you should send us a written request for compensation within twenty-one days of receiving your baggage.
